Team 107 SafetyOur Team has a goal of creating a team culture that includes all aspects of FIRST. Instilling a culture of safety is a value that every individual in the FIRST community must embrace as we pursue the mission and vision of FIRST. FIRST Robotics Competition has adopted safety as a core value and has established the framework for safety leadership in all aspects of the program. FIRST believes that the teams that take the lead in developing safety programs and policies have a positive and lasting impact on each team member and mentor, in addition to their communities and present and future work places. FIRST recognizes the teams that demonstrate safety throughout their programs and are truly committed to developing a culture of safety.

Safety Resources
To help develop our safety program for Team 107, we have started our own safety program. Each Saturday during the build season, we host a safety chat for the team to learn about something new and ways to stay save while working on the robot. We incorporate safety quizzes to check team members knowledge and understanding of safety procedures at our build site and in our pit.

Build Site Safety
At our build site, we have a hand tools, power tools and various other machine shop items. Students are required to review the safety sheets before using the equipment in the machine shop. For the power tools and machining equipment, students must wear their safety glasses and be have participated in the safety talks on the equipment.

Safety Data Sheet Downloads
Safety Data Sheets (SDS) provide information related to using different chemicals when working with the robots. They list the chemical mixture used to created the item being used. Safety Data Sheets should be kept at one's robot build space and in a Team's pit area.
